Self-Care Daily Routines!


For years I have dealt with stress/anxiety. It had gotten so bad that once in a while I had fallen into a depression. I wasn't happy with my life, I felt like my well-being had always came last. I finally said "I'm done!" Not like, ready to leave this world "I'm done but more that I am done being unhappy and also on edge and find my serenity. In order to do this, I had to face the facts that whatever I was doing was not healthy for my mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional health. The issue I kept facing since I was in high school was that I always winged everything. I never made a plan or took time out of the day to take care of myself. The only time I remember that I felt okay and relaxed was while I was in dance class. It was my self-care. Now I asked myself....what can I do to decrease this chaos in my life?? 

My husband gave me an amazing idea of using a daily routine!


With my routine, I did not just take into account all the responsibilities that I had to take care of but I also included a self-care routine that I partake in every morning so I can start my day off on the right foot!

Below is a small look at my daily routine for Mondays:

6:15AM-6:30AM- Wake Up! (Stretch, check phone)

6:30AM-6:45AM- Drink some tea or fresh lemon water

6:45AM- 7:05AM- Meditation

7:10AM-8:00AM- Eat Breakfast

8:00AM-9:00AM- Get ready for the day(Shower, get dressed, hair and makeup)

9:00AM- 10:00AM- Read Bible/Journal writing

10:00AM- 10:30AM- Do Asynchronous Work/study for Field Education 1 Class

10:30AM-11:15AM- Work on Personal Blog

11:15AM-12:00PM- Insanity Workout

12:00PM-1:00PM- Lunch

1:00PM-1:45PM- Finish working on Blog

2:00PM-3:00PM- Meeting with Field Placement Supervisor

3:15PM-4:15PM- Study/Complete Asynchronous work for Assessment and Diagnosis Class

5:00PM-6:30PM- Social Work Practice 1 Class

6:30-7:00 Prepare for Dinner

*The rest of the evening is dedicated to just hanging out with my husband and eating dinner!

Benefits of a Daily Routine:


1. Less Stress

With a daily routine, you will feel less overwhelmed. It allows you to prioritize what is most important to you. One of the feelings you have when you are stressed is that you don't have enough time to do everything.  With a  daily routine, it allowed me to see how much I have in the day.

2. Self-Care

It is crucially important to take care of yourself. If you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of anyone else. This routine will allow you to center yourself and take care of your needs first and then take care of everything else afterwards.

3. Organization

Before I started a daily routine, I was all over the place. I lost track of assignments that were due and started to become more forgetful. Now, I am actually ahead of all my assignments and have the ability to stay organized.


This daily routine has truly changed my life. In the last year, I was not happy, stressed the heck out which caused me to feel depressed. I knew there needed to be a change! Once, I started to use a daily routine, I have felt more relaxed, less stressed out, and feeling complete joy. I feel like my life is back on track and I finally have power over my well being than allowing everything around me effect my health spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.
